The Spaces give little space for its users to change the theme and customised skin. The current themes have rarely been updated in the past four years. Users are also given little freedom in setting up background images. The size and the resolution of the uploaded background image are not adjustable. The choices of position of the background image are limited. Users cannot freely set the number of posts published on the main site, either.
The theme of a personal space can largely reflect the owner’s personal style and taste. Allowing users to easily customise their spaces’ theme is important. Their personal characters can thus be better portrayed. This enhances the main purpose of people setting up spaces.
To improve, Spaces should introduce more themes. Users should be allowed to edit the background setting to a greater extent. Users should also be allowed to key in the exact number of blog entries they want to display on the main page.
