上星期六古筝concert终于结束，忙了一整天。化妆时老师说眼线要重，我自己越描越黑，画了一双熊猫眼。高跟鞋下午就换上了，一直穿到晚上表演结束。六七个小时，又跑，又上下楼，还搬古筝，在庆幸鞋跟没有断的同时感觉自己脚要断了，还是平跟鞋踏实。
星期天去买了《歌剧魅影》的剧票，97新币，贵得抽筋，买完后感觉有点什么不对劲，还没反应过来，天生少根筋。
前晚自己生平第一次开椰子，暴力解决，超有成就感。
昨天不顺，compre又fail了，开始怀疑自己智商是否有问题。
今天迷迷糊糊地过了，并无新事。

古筝的假期训练总算结束了，不过假期也快过完了。今天练了将近八个小时，比当年考级还疯，这里的人练琴真是不要命的。下个星期六concert，加油加油，然后就是4月末的SYF啦，快结束吧，比赛真是一个恶梦。
明天还有不少事情，首先是bridging course, 然后还要去大巴窑做NYAA的东东，还要买演出的鞋。对了，今天试了演出的服装，真是超级女人啊。
好了，我饿了，等下打个电话回家吧，我想我爸了。拜拜……
永远的OBS
中三七 张扬帆 15－3－2007
野外生存训练是一个长长的梦，就像艾丽斯奇遇记一般充满了挑战与惊喜，在那有趣的五天里，我拉着队友们的手，经历了很多，学到了很多，发现了很多自己潜在的能力。这段美妙的回忆，将陪着我一直走下去。
首先，我认识到了一个真理，那就是永远别说不可能。
OBS是名符其实地挑战我们的极限。在3月7日及3月8日两天里，我们一共划小艇12小时从乌敏岛来回圣巴旺。开始的时候我是觉得很好玩的，可是两个小时以后手就开始酸了。当时觉得目的地总也看不到，一段看似很短的距离实际上要划很久才到，周围的景色看上去总是一个样，没有改变，让我感觉自己并没有前进。在出发前的救生训练中，我全身的衣服都已经湿了，划艇的时候感觉身上粘乎乎的，难受极了。更糟糕的是因为船桨太重，手渐渐开始麻木而生疼，后来更是机械性地重复划水的动作，不敢停下来，否则怕自己再也没有力气重新举起船浆。在划得近乎绝望的时候，我真的有想哭的冲动，甚至认为自己不可能划完全程了。
可是我真的做到了。在3月8日中午时分，我们终于回到乌敏岛时，我一时间有种突然衰老的沧桑之感。回头望着那片广阔的海时，我有点不敢相信自己真的这样一浆一浆地划了回来。大家都很疲惫，但脸上都有掩不住的笑意，是的，我们成功了，12个小时的努力换来了极大的喜悦。上岸的时候，我告诉自己，凡事皆有可能。只要我下定决心去做，不要放弃，那么一切都有成功的可能。
其次，我认识到了团队精神的重要性。
第一天的傍晚，我们队没有按时完成晚餐的清理工作。这是因为大家都赶着去洗澡，没有人在意那些未清洗的锅与碗。每个人心里想的都是不早点洗澡待会就没机会了，那些锅与碗自会有别的同学清洗。每个人都推托，结果便是没有人做。可是问题总要解决的，在睡前的小结中，我们讨论决定第二天早上提前起来清洗，并商定下次要共同做完清洁工作以后才可以去洗澡。
果然，在吸取了第一天的教训以后，接下来的几天里大家都会主动地帮忙收拾了。更值得高兴的是随着相处时间的增长，我们队员之间的默契程度越来越好，工作时也能互相配合，大家分工合作，效率大大提高，使工作时间缩短，这样每个人就有更多的个人时间去洗澡了。
从这件事中，我受到了很大的启示，那就是集体的力量是伟大的。由此看来，在我们学习过程中，也应充分发挥这种团队精神，互相帮助，在做各科小组专题作业的时候，也要分工合作，这样我们一定能共同进步，更好地完成专题作业。
再者，我学到了不要自以为是。很多事情并不是像自己所想象的一样的，要亲自尝试，才能做出评论。3月6日下午，教练指导我们玩滑索。那是从一个18米的高塔滑下来的高空项目。我自认是从不怕高的，于是便排在了队伍的前面。没想到真正爬上去以后却感觉脚在发抖，不敢向前再迈一步。18米真的很高，高得让我有些晕眩，地面的人变得好小。站在上面的时候心里很怕，有一刻甚至想放弃，可是爬上去了就没有退路，只能硬着头皮滑下来。脚碰到地的时候心里的石头落了地，总算踏实了些，之前心一直是悬着的。从此暗自决定不再夸口说大话，踏踏实实做好自己的事才是真理。
有趣的事还有很多，第一次搭帐篷，第一次背大大的包走山路，第一次听着海潮入睡，第一次半夜起来站岗，第一次凌晨冻得醒来发抖……很多很多的第一次，共同组成了我第一次露营的美好回忆。
不论如何，一切都结束了。最后一天早上大家都不想离开，一是OBS真的很好玩，二是回来还有很多作业要做，压力很大，不想面对现实。这五天虽然辛苦，可是考虑的都是基本的生存技能，没有学校，也没有外界花花绿绿的诱惑。一切归于原始，这是个艰苦的世外桃源。
最后总结的时候教练对我们说，我们过了五天富有挑战性的生活，可是我们的挑战不在这里，不在乌敏岛，不是搭帐篷，不是划艇。我们真正的挑战在于我们未来的路，是我们的学习，是我们的人生。
是的，在乌敏岛，我们学到了一种精神，一种不折不挠的毅力。这一切的一切，将陪伴我，一点一点摸索未来的路。

8. What lessons have you learnt from the OBS experience? (expository-reflective)
My memorable OBS
Since I had heard a lot about how tough OBS was from my seniors before, I had been afraid of it before I went. However, I found myself did not want to leave on the last day. I will treasure this valuable memory but I do not want to experience it once more as the activities were really quite tiring. Looking back on it, I realize that I had learnt a lot from this special experience. I am different now.
Firstly, I learnt that I should never say something was impossible. Kayaking was very fun whereas kayaking for twelve hours was not. On March 7 and 8, we spent totally twelve hours kayaking from pulau Ubin to Sanbawan and returned. I thought I would die on the half way since my hands were numb but it seemed that the destination never appeared. The worse thing was that short distance could take long to achieve. The scenery aside seemed to be the same all the time. However, when we finally returned and arrived at Camp One, I was satisfied and could not help smiling because I succeed to complete the unbelievable task. The most important thing I had learnt was that nothing was impossible if I made my mind to do it and never gave up. I became more confident than before and started to believe in myself. I would never say something was impossible without putting all the effort to do it.
Secondly, I became aware of the importance of teamwork. On the evening of the first day, we could not finish our cleaning up for dinner because everyone was hurried to take a bath and nobody concerned about the dirty masstins and rubbish we left behind. I felt guilty when our group decided to get up earlier so that to complete the work. It was glad to say that the situation turned better as days passed by and we generally got used to work as a group. Everyone was willing to contribute as much as possible so that we could clean up the mess in a short time. The power of teamwork was amazing. In reality, a group need to be unity and make full use of teamwork in order to do the projects better.
In conclusion, my experience of OBS is memorable since I have leant a lot during the five days. It gives me confidence to face the difficulties in the future. Moreover, I have realized the advantages of working as a group. I believe that I can do well after coming back from OBS. Looking forward to the new semester; I know I can overcome all the challenges. I have faith in myself.
My experiences in Singapore for the last five months
Five months ago, I left my parents and flew to Singapore with my dream. Time flies. Thousands of things have happened during these five months. As a foreign student lived in a new country, I generally got used to the life here. Honestly and proudly, I can say that I live here happily. I have learnt to appreciate and enjoy the life style here.
First of all, I feel safe living in Singapore. Singapore’s law and security are famous all over the world. I have heard that before I came here. In the past few years, I was always being afraid of thieves and robbers in my city, Zhuhai. Living in the Nanyang Girls’ Boarding School, there is no need for me to worry about this now. The guards here are responsible. I believe that they will do their best to ensure our safety. Safety always comes first. Living safely in Singapore, I feel happy and comfortable.
Secondly, there are many different languages here. Luckily, I have got used to the situation now. It is common to hear English, Mandarin, Malay and Indonesian. Some dialects used in southern China are also popular among the olds here. The most important thing is that I found my English improve a lot. I have got used to the life which I have expected for many years that everything is in English. As English is an official language all over the world, I will keep on studying it.
Thirdly, it took a long period of time for me to get used to the prices of things here. At first I felt that things here were very expensive since they were paid by Singapore dollars. During the first month, I would multiply the prices of the things by five before I bought them. This was to make myself aware of the price in RMB. Now the situation gets better. Though the things are still expensive, I can be used to this and sometimes buy some snakes to make myself happy. I think get used to the money in Singapore is a meaningful step for getting used to the life here.
Fourthly, I have great interest in the multiply culture here. No matter eastern or western, white or yellow, people can get together harmoniously. When I walk along Ochard Road, I can see different races people talk and laugh together. Sometimes I can even hear Japanese or Korean. In my opinion, Singapore is like a national family that people from different places in the world can make friends with each other here.
Fifthly, I have learnt much about religions since I came here. Since religions are not very openly encouraged in China, I had just heard Muslim, Christianity or Catholicism before. However, during the last five months, I have seen a lot of Muslims. I have even been to a Christian church and listened to a clergyman’s talk. I find these experiences are memorable and I would like to share them with my parents and friends when I come back to China. I am proud to say that every religion is respected in Singapore.
In conclusion, I think Singapore is a wonderful country for me to live and study. My life here is both leisurely and stressful. Everyday is meaning. Living in Singapore, I can see the whole world.
